Hi there! I’m Scott Clanin and I’m incredibly proud to own and manage our creative agency, Clanin Marketing. We’re a team of marketers, writers, and artists with one common goal: helping businesses thrive.
The road to today started with a simple idea, passion, and a garden-level apartment. Here’s how we got here:
In 2011, while in my apartment at Illinois State University (Go Redbirds!), I started developing plans for a social media agency helping businesses navigate these evolving platforms while engaging with their customers (honestly, it was still the Wild West of marketing). The seed was planted.
In 2012, I moved to Champaign, Illinois to work as the Marketing Manager for a property development and management company. While there, I oversaw plans and strategies to market primarily towards college-aged students that allowed me to embrace the latest in digital marketing.
In 2013, I started joining community boards and committees. When I say “started joining”, I didn’t just get my feet wet, I plunged straight into the deep end. I met numerous business owners and simply listened. I listened to their challenges, their struggles, and their goals. The seed planted in college started to emerge and evolve. Once focused on social media, I adjusted business plans to offer a variety of marketing and design services based on the needs of our market. One agency, one full-service approach.
In 2015, Clanin Marketing was launched. I accepted our first client project and worked nights to manage both my full-time job and this new growing company (something had to pay the bills!)
In 2017, I went full-time at Clanin Marketing and worked to accelerate our growth, services, and partnerships. We eventually moved to a beautiful office space and started growing our amazing team.
Today marks 6 years since we accepted our first project and during those 6 years, we’ve had the privilege to partner with amazing clients on so many unforgettable projects that have taken us across the Midwest.
When I say we’re passionate about helping businesses thrive, I mean it. Our team members are fueled by helping businesses with all things marketing and design and embrace every minute of it.
